Pet Trainer

This role is responsible for leading our Obedience Training Programs, providing hands-on training to customers and their pets in a class environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal training and excellent communication skills.

• Maintain regular attendance and work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support selling initiatives by thanking customers, engaging with them, and advising on products or services.
• Create a positive and professional environment for customers and associates.
• Answer phone calls, schedule obedience classes, and discuss the obedience program with customers.
• Advise customers on products necessary for obedience classes and at-home positive reinforcement training.
• Follow obedience training procedures and train customers and their dogs with patience, consistency, and sensitivity.
• Report accidents and injuries to the Store Manager promptly and complete required obedience training forms.
• Adhere to safety rules, cleanliness standards, and maintain a safe and productive work environment.

• 1+ years of experience in animal training or a related field.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate store equipment.
• Ability to move and transfer merchandise, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50-75 pounds.
