We are currently seeking skilled Bridge Design Engineers to enhance our capabilities in our Raleigh, NC office. The selected engineer will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to create bridge and structural designs, as well as conduct NBIS Bridge Inspections for various transportation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves:

  • Creating design plans and contract documents for the maintenance or replacement of diverse bridge structures.
  • Providing construction support, including the review of shop drawings.
  • Conducting field inspections of highway bridges, documenting any defects, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Calculating load ratings for different bridge types.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A B.S.C.E. or B.S.C.E.T. from an ABET-accredited program, along with relevant experience.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina.
  • Proven experience in bridge design and contract documentation, with a solid understanding of NCDOT policies.
  • Strong familiarity with AASHTO bridge specifications.
  • Proficiency in various bridge design software.
  • Hands-on experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and Open Bridge software.
  • Experience with NCDOT bridge safety inspections and WIGINS is advantageous.
  • Completion of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges is a plus.
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
  • The ability to travel as needed, both in-state and out-of-state.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
