Job Summary

Dorman Products is seeking a skilled Metrology Technician to support our growing Engineering Services team. As a Metrology Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our products by performing dimensional inspections and calibrations. You will utilize advanced equipment such as laser scanners, CMMs, and optical measurement systems to collect data and create detailed inspection reports.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize lab best practices to prepare sample parts for evaluation
Identify and use the appropriate equipment to obtain required measurements
Document results in standard report formats and record observations made during testing
Effectively communicate results to Engineers, Metrologists, and Lab Managers
Maintain and calibrate a variety of dimensional inspection equipment
Maintain a lean environment using 5S practices

Requirements

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiarity with vehicle systems is a plus
Familiarity with GD&T and interpreting technical drawings preferred
Documented diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated communication ability
Documented organizational and time-management skills
