Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to join our team at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic imaging information.
  • Work with registered Radiologic Technologists as direct supervisors and do not work as independent technologists on any shifts.
  • Utilize technique charts for technique formulation and initialize work.
  • Add pertinent information to requisition concerning Radiation Safety, clinical information, and procedural notes.
  • Correctly complete procedure information in Meditech on all patients, including NP charges.
  • Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatrics, geriatric, and general population.
  • Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure and select and operate radiography equipment, imaging, and/or associated accessories successfully.
  • Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest and determine radiographic techniques for appropriate examinations.
  • Evaluate radiographs or images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
  • Comply with NARMC HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and understand responsibility to report issues with privacy, fraud, and abuse, compliance, and ethical conduct.
  • Report equipment malfunction immediately and select, clean, and load film cassettes.
  • Assist in providing ambulatory, wheelchair, and/or stretcher transportation of patients using safe and good body mechanics.
  • Assist physicians in performance of examinations, holding, and turning patients, and other related duties as required.
  • Fulfill work assignments in a timely manner and provide post-procedure communication to patients.
  • Communicate appropriately and completely with Radiologists concerning procedures and patient care.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness, including provision for the contamination-free condition of room equipment and personnel.
  • Correctly utilize Biomedical disposal techniques and able to state what materials are appropriate for biohazard disposal.
  • Secure and return supplies, maintain room stock, and effectively communicate and work with supervisors.
  • Identify each patient and order beforehand and maintain procedure competency in various areas, including chest, abdomen, c-spine, L-spine, T-spine, skull, shoulder, knee, ankle, foot, facial bones, elbow, ribs, wrist, pediatric chest, portable chest, hip, pelvis, femur, leg, and foot.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a recognized program of Radiological Science and Technology.
  • Registry eligible applicants will be required to successfully complete the registry process within one year.
  • Radiation safety education and previous working experience that included safety areas is considered desirable and a plus.
