- Conduct continuous monitoring of patient cardiac rhythms and promptly notify nursing staff of any changes.
- Collect necessary data for telemetry placement.
- Measure and interpret patients' heart rhythms, documenting findings according to departmental standards.
- Perform ectopy checks and maintain telemetry equipment.
- Communicate effectively with unit personnel regarding patient rhythm changes.
- Ensure accurate charging and maintenance of telemetry charts.
- Adhere to the highest standards of clinical practice, ensuring exceptional patient and family experiences.
- Initiate and discontinue monitoring equipment as required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Clinical and Professional Development Dysrhythmia Course and EKG exam
- BLS certification required
- Ongoing education in the field is essential
- Experience: Minimum of two years in ECG/Dysrhythmia monitoring in a clinical setting
- Understanding of basic cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Ability to build effective working relationships with healthcare staff and the public
- Capacity to work under pressure for extended periods
- Strong communication skills
