Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Schwartz Brothers Restaurants. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our manufacturing and packaging processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections of production areas, equipment, and storage facilities to identify and address any potential food safety and quality issues.
  • Verify product parameters, such as weight, packaging, and sensory data, to ensure specifications are met.
  • Initiate and release product/equipment holds for non-conformances or pending micro analysis.
  • Record product data in the Product Grading Spreadsheet and notify the Bakery FSQ team when product is out of specification.
  • Enforce current Good Manufacturing Practices and alert the FSQ Supervisor to ongoing GMP issues.
  • Verify daily HACCP records, daily supervisor checks, pre-ops, oven time and temperature logs, Allergen Cleaning Forms, and sanitizer dilution monitoring.
  • Perform daily (REB) or weekly (SBB) calibration verification for scales and thermometers.
  • Perform monthly validation of metal detection.
  • Monitor pest control traps on weeks with no scheduled PCO inspection and record pest sightings in the PCO Pest Sighting Log.
  • Submit work orders for FSQ-related maintenance issues.
  • Provide a daily FSQ summary to the FSQ Supervisor and FSQ Manager via end-of-day emailed report.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Previous experience in food safety or quality control preferred. Will train the right candidate.
  • HACCP certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Must obtain Washington State Food Handler's Card within 15 days of start.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Flexible work schedule - ability to work nights and weekends when needed.
  • Multilingual is preferred.

Wage Range

$25.00-$30.00/hour, DOE
