Job Overview

Vaxxinova US is in search of a qualified individual to fill the role of Operations Manager.

Role Overview:

The Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing all facets of veterinary vaccine production, from the procurement of raw materials to the distribution of finished products. This position requires close collaboration with Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Research and Development, Sales, and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Administration:

  • Ensure the efficient, compliant, and timely production and delivery of veterinary vaccine and biological products.
  • Oversee the planning, organization, direction, and control of production activities to support the operational needs of Vaxxinova.
  • Engage in long-term strategic planning concerning raw materials, resource management, staffing, and capital expenditures.
  • Provide training and mentorship to managers to enhance their technical and leadership capabilities, thereby improving organizational performance.

Productivity and Process Management:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing processes to meet production demands in a cost-effective manner.
  • Facilitate the transfer of new products or processes from R&D or other Vaxxinova entities for commercialization and ongoing enhancement of manufacturing practices.
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within the manufacturing environment.
  • Balance competing objectives, such as cost and quality, to deliver products that meet established manufacturing criteria.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with regulatory bodies, including USDA/CVB, C-CVB, VICH, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Understanding of veterinary biologics principles, vaccine production, quality control, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English for interaction with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional presentation abilities to convey information to various audiences.
  • Proven experience in managing research projects and leading teams.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exhibit sound business judgment, decisiveness, flexibility, and determination.
  • Demonstrated capability as a collaborative team player committed to continuous improvement.

Experience and Education:

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • At least 5 years in the veterinary vaccine or pharmaceutical sector is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field is mandatory.
  • A Master's degree in business or a scientific discipline is advantageous.
