About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist Specialist to join our team at Align Precision. As a CNC Machinist Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs for CNC mills and lathes, ensuring maximum quality and output.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs for CNC mills and lathes, maximizing quality and output
  • Write programs for 3, 4, and 5 axis machining centers, including complex surfaces
  • Create user-friendly programs for minimally skilled operators, with a focus on ease of use
  • Troubleshoot and edit programs at machines as required
  • Provide tooling and fixturing recommendations as applicable
  • Maintain electronic files for all programs
  • Continually work to improve and optimize programs
  • Create purchase orders to order material, cutters, tooling, etc. for new jobs
  • Create documentation necessary to manufacture parts
  • Stay current with the latest technology and software upgrades
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and customers
  • Perform safe operation of machines
  • Read and understand drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Complete all required paperwork
  • Keep work area clean and organized at all times
  • Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements
  • Provide good feedback and promote good communication
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience machining or programming required
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
