Cabinet Finisher Senior

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cabinet Finisher Senior to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for preparing, applying, and touching up finish on aircraft furniture, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to design and engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finish Preparation and Application: Perform complex high-quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniture in the shop and on-board aircraft, applying finish using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Interpret material specifications to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail, coordinating with the Design group to ensure compliance with customer-approved design samples.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Comply with and champion Safety, 5S, and housekeeping practices, ensuring the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP).
- Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train lesser-skilled technicians, developing their skills and knowledge to ensure the team's success.
- Process Improvement: Work to develop and implement process improvements that address safety, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma tools.
- Material Tracking and Coordination: Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
- Lead Responsibilities: Accept lead responsibilities when needed, overseeing projects and coordinating with the lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, 4 years of experience in wood finishing processes, advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products, and experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
- Language and Communication: Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection, process specifications, and terminology, and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Physical Demands: Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
- Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate and able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
