About the Position

VHB is seeking a skilled Land Development Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL, and contribute to the design and development of safe, sustainable, and attractive environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of site development plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
  • Conduct field investigations and gather data to support project designs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, planners, and other engineers to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions.
  • Prepare reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with teammates.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of land development construction, including codes and development regulations.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and detailing.
  • Experience with green initiative programs and low-impact design (LEED, Envision).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 1+ years of engineering experience (may include extensive co-op/internship experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of land development.
  • EIT Certification preferred.
