Nurse Practitioner II- Fresno Sequoia Hospital

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the designated service. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing practice, with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with dermatological conditions.
Essential Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination, to identify potential health issues and develop effective treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences, cultural background, and medical history.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their healthcare.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a nurse practitioner.
- One (1) year (within the past three (3) years) experience as a NP providing specialized care for dermatological conditions, including the prescribing of condition-specific therapies (medications, light therapy).
- Masters Degree in Nursing (unless already a Kaiser Permanente employee who was grandfathered in prior to California Business and Professions Code requirement in January 1, 2008).
- Completion of a Masters Program in Adult NP, Family Practice NP or Pediatric NP required: Adult or Family NP if practice limited to adults; Family or Pedi NP if practice limited to pediatric patients.
- Nurse Practitioner Certificate (California) Registered Nurse License (California) Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number (California) National Provider Identifier required at hire Nurse Practitioner National Certificate Basic Life Support.
- Experience working in a dermatology setting.
- Knowledge of current medical research and best practices in dermatology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This role is based at Fresno Sequoia Hospital, with occasional travel to other Kaiser Permanente facilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing priorities.
