Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at MountainView Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical testing in one or more areas, including blood bank, chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, special chemistry, microbiology, and manual tests.
  • Obtain or receive specimens, perform laboratory tests according to written procedures, and understand methods and principles.
  • Perform and evaluate quality control on a daily basis and inform the Administrative Director or Manager of any issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation, interpret results as to their accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and organize work to meet established deadlines.
  • Record all data obtained and instruct MT and TLT students as needed.
  • Work actively and cooperatively with nursing and other hospital staff to ensure timely patient care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college; OR University and successful score on a national examination for certification approved by the State Board; OR
  • Completion of three years of academic study with a minimum of 90 semester hours at an accredited college or university in a curriculum involving biological or physical science and at least 12 months of training at a school of medical technology approved by a national accrediting agency and pass a national examination for certification approved by the State Board; OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences at an accredited college or university, have at least one year of additional full-time experience or training in the specialty or subspecialty in which he/she performs tests and pass a national examination for certification approved by the State Board.
  • Current State license (within six months of hire date) or provisional license per State regulations as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, or
  • A General Supervisor license is required if working alone.
  • Generalist experience in all areas of the laboratory is preferred.
