Job Title: Senior Licensed Practical Nurse - Healthcare ServicesJob Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Florida Department of Health. As a Senior LPN, you will be employed by the Department of Health in DeSoto and will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Community Health Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Observe and assess students, providing comfort measures and reporting health trends and problems to the supervising nurse.
  • Assist in basic first aid and CPR for students and staff, as well as maintain documentation of medication administration according to policy.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly health room, ordering needed supplies and collecting data in a computer system to accurately reflect all services provided.
  • Perform health screenings, record results in the student's cumulative health record, and assist with case management of students with health-related problems.
  • Review health records, purge duplicate forms, and identify documented chronic health problems, initiating development of an Individualized Health Care Plan.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
  • Ability to organize independently, deliver services according to policy, procedures, and student Individual Health Care Plan.
  • Ability to collect data and submit in a specified time frame, physically move in a school and office environment, and operate a menu-driven computerized electronic medical record system.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, ability to work in a team, and maintain confidentiality of health records.
