WellStar Medical Group is actively seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Heart Failure Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our established and dynamic cardiology team.
In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the care of patients suffering from advanced heart failure, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. This position offers a full-time schedule, primarily during weekdays, with potential for weekend-only shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Wellstar Health System is a comprehensive healthcare network comprising multiple hospitals in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Our primary facility is Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center, a 630-bed hospital that is currently expanding its services.
Our facility features an 18-bed Critical Care Unit and a leading temporary mechanical support program for patients experiencing cardiogenic shock, which includes advanced technologies such as VA-ECMO, Impella devices, and IABP. We also maintain a robust left ventricular assist device (LVAD) program, recognized nationally for its high implant volume at non-transplant centers. Our cardiac surgery program is highly active, and we have established partnerships with various academic institutions for transplant services.
As part of our multidisciplinary clinical team, you will collaborate with four cardiologists specialized in advanced heart failure, two VAD surgeons, and a dedicated group of nurses and coordinators. Our team is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients with heart failure, chronic inotropic support, and durable LVAD therapy. We utilize cutting-edge heart failure device therapies, including implantable pulmonary artery pressure monitors and baroreceptor activation therapy.
The Wellstar Center for Cardiovascular Care stands as the largest provider of cardiovascular services in northwest Georgia, encompassing numerous hospitals and office locations throughout the metro area. Our extensive team of over 90 physicians and 85 advanced practice providers delivers care across a wide spectrum of cardiac conditions, including surgery, structural heart issues, advanced heart failure, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, and complex interventions.
