At Riggs Industries, we are seeking a Senior Fabrication Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to set up and operate equipment to manufacture fabricated metal components for products such as truck bodies, trailers, specialty vehicles, and related subassemblies.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting, with a strong background in welding and fabrication. They will be responsible for connecting cables to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse for welding, as well as cleaning and preparing objects for welding by grinding surfaces.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $75,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Benefits include excellent health insurance plans, a 401-K retirement plan with a company match, and affordable dental and vision insurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Setup and Operation: Set up and operate equipment to manufacture fabricated metal components for products such as truck bodies, trailers, specialty vehicles, and related subassemblies.
  • Cable Connection: Connect cables to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse for welding.
  • Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare objects for welding by grinding surfaces.
  • Welding: Strike an arc to melt and deposit metal from electrode to workpiece and join edges of the workpiece.
  • Quality Control: Examine weld for bead size and other specifications, and chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
  • Maintenance: Operate a press, shear, and saw, and set up and adjust welder, and perform routine maintenance.
