Job Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in a PRN position. As an Occupational Therapist in our large, fast-paced acute care inpatient OT department, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and make a meaningful impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' histories and extract relevant information to inform treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address patients' goals and needs.
  • Supervise occupational therapists' assistants or aides in the performance of treatment procedures.
  • Coordinate treatment plans with patients, families, and treatment teams through active participation in meetings and departmental conferences.
  • Implement treatment plans and supervise patients' use of equipment, taking necessary precautions to ensure safe and effective treatment.
  • Monitor and re-evaluate patients' responses to intervention and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patients' evaluations, treatment, assessment, and plans in their records.
  • Comply with established standards, policies, and procedures, including billing, reimbursement, scheduling, and emergency procedures.
  • Develop and implement home or community programming to maintain or enhance patients' performance in their environments.
  • Participate in discharge planning, including determination of appropriate home or community programming, home equipment, and patient/family education.
  • Terminate services per physician's orders or when goals have been achieved.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • PA licensure, issued by the State Board of Occupational Therapy.
  • CPR certification.
  • One (1) year of general occupational therapy experience.
  • Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
