Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts electrocardiograms and performs Holter and Event monitor hook-ups, including patient education.
  • Ensures the accurate editing of EKGs and confirms completion.
  • Provides previous EKGs for comparative analysis by physicians and organizes EKGs for interpretation by the assigned physician group.
  • Maintains precise records and statistics of all EKG procedures and accurately completes charges.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness and order within the unit and ensures appropriate stock levels.
  • Completes daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards and accurately records productivity metrics.
  • Engages in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and potential safety hazards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Previous experience with EKG and/or Holter monitoring is preferred.
