About the Role

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team of experts in sustainable, high-performance building engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing systems of buildings, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide design and construction projects, working closely with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver high-quality results.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors, providing clear and concise communication and leading meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks, ensuring compliance with project goals and requirements.
  • Confer with other engineers and personnel to implement operation procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
  • Research and analyze clients' design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience with MEP design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
  • PE registration is required.
  • Experience with internal and external project management.
  • Experience in MEP design and specifications.
  • Experience with managing, maintaining, and creating Owner and Architect relationships.
  • Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12, and Commercial market sectors.
  • Experience with Revit/AutoCAD.
