Grand Strand Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician.- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in maintenance or a related field.
Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing routine repairs and possesses experience in mechanical systems, equipment upkeep, and operational maintenance. This role includes the authority to engage other trades under maintenance agreements during urgent situations. The Maintenance Technician I is not on-call or subject to callbacks until a 12-month performance review is completed and a promotion to Maintenance Technician II is achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibits understanding of the medical center's Fire and Safety Plan.
- Conducts a variety of maintenance tasks related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems within the medical facility.
- Maintains familiarity with the departmental training guide to ensure proficiency with all facility equipment and off-site locations.
- Assembles furniture and equipment as required prior to distribution to various departments.
- Reviews work orders and promptly informs the supervisor of any tasks that cannot be completed within the expected timeframe.
- Replaces ceiling tiles and performs hardware maintenance on doors, windows, and related equipment, adhering to local, state, and national regulations, with special attention to ADA compliance.
- Regularly cleans sprinkler heads and air duct registers.
- Assists with general maintenance and construction tasks as directed, following all applicable codes.
- Responsible for indoor touch-up painting, patching, and minor repairs to furnishings.
