Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope and support to individuals and families in need. We are currently seeking an experienced Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

The Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist will play a crucial role in promoting healthy development and well-being among young children and their families. This position requires a strong understanding of infant and early childhood mental health principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and market groups and services to licensed community childcare programs
  • Work closely with licensed childcare staff, children, families and administration to respond to the individual needs and abilities of children and families, assisting them to attain skills, strategies, supports and resources of personal and social adjustment and efficacy
  • Collect data, maintain records, and support compliance of all Child Care Aware Contract requirements
  • Promote the emotional development of children, families, staff and parents by providing training and information on mental health and social services
  • Promote and provide mental health professionals that support providers in reducing child expulsion from child care settings due to behavioral, social, and emotional needs of the child(ren)
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field
  • Three years' experience working with evidence-based practices and curricula to promote early childhood mental health
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language proficiency
