Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of a crew of maintenance mechanics and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment. This role requires strong leadership and analytical skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with production supervisors and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to a crew of maintenance mechanics, ensuring that work is completed in a safe and timely manner.
  • Requisition and schedule resources, including equipment, materials, and human resources, to accomplish work orders.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, and Reliability Engineer to prioritize work orders and ensure that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Develop and maintain the equipment maintenance knowledge and decision-making capability of the work crew.
  • Prepare and maintain written records of employee performance, time, and attendance.
  • Facilitate safety awareness and training initiatives, including confined space entry, lock-out tag-out, and hot work.
  • Manage activities within the negotiated union contract.
  • Troubleshoot quality and process problems in collaboration with production supervisors and engineers.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of machinery and process equipment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, communication, customer focus, and the ability to train others in the use of tools and procedures related to mechanical maintenance activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • SAP PM experience.
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
