Job Title: Dealer Trade Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Dealer Trade Driver to facilitate the exchange of vehicles between our dealership and other automotive dealerships. This role requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Transportation: Safely transport vehicles to and from other dealerships for trade-ins, purchases, or exchanges.
  • Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles before and after transportation, documenting any damage or issues.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork, including vehicle condition reports, mileage logs, and trade documents.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate transportation schedules with dealership personnel to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with dealership staff and customers.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure assigned vehicles are properly maintained and serviced, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Safety: Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies while operating company vehicles.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with dealership management and dispatch to provide updates on transportation progress.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License: With a clean driving record.
  • Age: At least 21 years old.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of and adherence to traffic laws and regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment:

  • Travel: This position may involve long-distance travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Uniform: Uniform or dress code may be required.
  • Company Vehicles: Company vehicles will be provided for work-related transportation.

Pay Information:

  • Pay Rate: $0.30 per mile or a $50 minimum trip payment.
  • Cancelled Trades: $10 per cancelled trade (only applicable if the driver has arrived at the dealership prior to cancellation).
  • Vehicle Inspection: $20 for vehicle inspection (documented inspection of the vehicle prior to bringing it to the dealership).
  • Wait Time: $10 per hour wait time, after the first hour.

Reimbursements:

  • Overnight Stay: $130 maximum per night for required overnight stay (authorized for a round trip over 10 hours).
  • Meal Reimbursement: $25 per meal when an overnight stay is required.
  • Tolls: Tolls.
  • Fuel Reimbursement: Any out-of-pocket fuel expenses.
