Job Summary

As a Security Officer at Saint Francis Health System, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, staff, and hospital contents. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement security measures to protect life and property within the hospital complex
  • Control unruly visitors and patients, with special attention given to the Trauma Emergency Center
  • Provide backup to officers in other areas of the hospital as needed
  • Respond to fire alarms and act as directed by the Hospital Fire Marshal or Stationary Engineers
  • Direct hospital personnel in cases of immediate danger or pending disaster
  • Investigate unusual incidents, complete incident reports, and submit them to the Risk Management Department
  • Perform other related duties as needed, following hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CLEET certified peace officers, must obtain CLEET Armed Security Guard Certification within 90 days of hire
  • 1-2 years of related security experience
  • Ability to utilize effective oral, written, and listening skills to communicate with the public
  • Ability to utilize positive interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors, and hospital staff
Working Relationships

You will work directly with patients and/or customers, as well as other healthcare professionals and staff. You will be an integral part of our team, working together to provide exceptional patient care and safety.

Special Job Dimensions

This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA). As such, you will be required to adhere to the terms of this act.
