Job Summary

Pilgrim's is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to oversee the live bird processing operations. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and coordination skills to ensure the efficient and effective processing of live birds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and Direct Operations: Supervise the day-to-day activities of live bird processing to maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining quality.
  • Inspect and Verify Product: Inspect product to verify production specifications are met.
  • Train and Supervise Personnel: Train and supervise processing personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure Quality and Safety: Ensure that all activities meet established processing, quality control, and animal welfare standards.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Work with other plant function areas as needed to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality.
  • Schedule and Motivate Labor Force: Schedule, train, and motivate processing labor force to ensure consistent attainment of processing schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels.
  • Interview and Recommend Candidates: Interview and recommend individuals for open positions.
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Recommend improvements in processing flow or methods.
Requirements
  • Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in a supervisory position.
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED; Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Directly related work experience will be accepted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual a plus.
