The Clinical Care Coordinator I plays a vital role in the management of patient care in the physician office setting under the direct supervision of a physician or licensed provider. This position requires a high level of organization, communication, and technical skills to ensure seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the management of patient care, including scheduling appointments, preparing patients for exams, and maintaining accurate records.
- Provide patient education and support to promote health and wellness.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, billing, and insurance verification.
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) by the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or a certified EMT.
- Basic Life Support/CPR certification; or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire/transfer date.
- One (1) year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician's office practice.
- Experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs.
- Ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software along with skill in all Microsoft office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
