Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Assistant to join our team at Downs Plumbing Company. As a key member of our plumbing team, you will play a vital role in supporting residential and commercial plumbing projects by installing plumbing systems and related materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation of plumbing systems, including underground/rough-ins, stack outs, and trim outs, on small and large-scale projects and repairs.
- Install hangers and supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Regularly use basic hand tools and demonstrate the ability to read a tape measure, ensuring accurate measurements and installations.
- Assist with the installation of various piping materials, including copper, steel, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and other piping systems.
- Work safely at heights, using ladders, man lifts, and other equipment, to complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- 1 or more years of experience in plumbing is preferred but not required.
- Current/valid driver's license in the applicable state.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to read a tape measure.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to perform routine measurements and calculations.

- Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
- Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter.
- Comply with and promote company Safety Policy.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and English language skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Regular and punctual attendance; ability to work overtime if needed.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass a full background screening.
- Ability to pass MVR check.
Compensation:
- Wage Range Starting at: $12.00+/hr. based on qualifications & experience.
