Position Summary:

This role is responsible for servicing and repairing fire sprinkler systems in commercial settings. You'll work under minimal supervision to ensure the highest level of service and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair fire protection sprinkler systems for commercial applications.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance, as well as emergency service calls, as needed, on existing sprinkler systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning sprinkler systems.
  • Replace or repair malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.
  • Prepare accurate and timely documentation for work performed, complete monthly vehicle reports, and maintain truck inventory to ensure proper response to customers' needs.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school or vocational training.
  • Three or more years of experience in all fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, deluge, and pre-action).
  • Working knowledge of fire pumps and underground sprinkler systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA and local codes (NFPA 13, 13(R), 13(D), 14, 20, 24).
  • Ability to discern deficiencies in the system(s) being serviced.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to clear a drug screening.

Certification/Licensing:

  • Backflow test and repair certification.
  • Obtain and retain specific product certifications and/or licenses required by national, state, and local codes.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and harsh work environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, twist, use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear.
  • Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances.
  • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with 'on call availability' and travel on short notice.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
