We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clinic Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Germantown, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

The Clinic Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing general, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound procedures, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in all general and/or vascular sonographic procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with others towards common department goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Proficiently operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient's medical record to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Position patient and select proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and communicate to appropriate staff.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, or cost containment projects/initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 0 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 0 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 0 months.
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) needs to be obtained within 0 months.
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) needs to be obtained within 0 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Sonographer role.
Working Conditions:

The Clinic Ultrasound Technologist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, with exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
