Your Responsibilities:
The Biomedical Field Service Technician is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and executing service assignments at client locations across a multi-state area.
This role involves direct interaction with end-user clients, performing tasks independently without onsite supervision. Responsibilities include:
- Installation, maintenance, validation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated scientific instruments.
- Conducting onsite service activities, including repairs, installations, preventive maintenance, and validation services.
- Managing job scheduling, travel coordination, and ensuring the availability of necessary parts and tools.
- Completing service documentation, including reports on service activities, validations, and inventory management.
- Maintaining a parts inventory and managing a company-sponsored expense account.
- Frequent travel is required, including domestic and international overnight trips.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An associate degree in a technical or mechanical field, or equivalent military technical training, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in servicing complex instruments.
- Comfort with potentially biohazardous materials and a willingness to travel extensively.
- A valid driver's license and proof of insurance, along with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to:
- Walk, use hands for handling and manipulating equipment, and communicate effectively.
- Stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds independently or up to 80 pounds with assistance.
- Exhibit specific vision capabilities, including close vision and depth perception.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes a mix of office settings and client locations, requiring mobility and adaptability to various conditions. Adherence to strict safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory when handling research and clinical equipment.
