Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior BIW Design Engineer to join our team at DBSI Services in Raymond, OH. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing high-volume Body-in-White (BIW) designs and collaborating with automotive OEM design engineers to drive cost, mass, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop BIW components using CATIA V6, with a focus on creating 3D designs and 2D drawings.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams to drive design projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design.
  • Work closely with key BIW system and sheet metal component suppliers to support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing principles, including GD&T and dimensional engineering, to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in BIW design, with a strong background in CATIA V6.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive offshore teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing principles and GD&T.
