The Singing River Health System is seeking a highly skilled Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will be responsible for performing external beam treatment plans, interstitial and intracavitary implant plans, and assisting physicians with weekly chart checks.
Key Responsibilities- Checking radiation dose calculations according to physician treatment prescriptions
- Assisting in the design and fabrication of molds as required
- Preparing computer dosimetry plans under physician supervision
- Checking simulation setup for CT-assisted computer plans
- Master's Degree in Medical Physics from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Therapeutic Medical Physicist
- Certification in therapeutic radiological physics by the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics
This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, walk without undue fatigue, and work in a fast-paced environment. You must also be able to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
