Job Summary

Precision Label Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Flexographic Press Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating flexographic printing presses to print designs on various substrates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate flexographic printing presses to print designs on rolls of synthetic, paper, and other substrates.
  • Identify and load specified materials and widths onto the press, ensuring accurate alignment and cutting.
  • Load cutting, perforating, and sheeting dies to prevent damage and ensure precise cutting.
  • Run the press with specified material to achieve precise alignment and cutting.
  • Read work orders and mount printing plates on print cylinders, ensuring accurate color and position.
  • Load ink colors and anilox rolls according to PMS charts, achieving precise color and finish.
  • Set up printing plates to print on substrates with specified color and position, completing each color individually.
  • Complete setup to include back-scoring and matrix removal, ensuring efficient production.
  • Set production counters to work order quantities and maintain accurate production records.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout production, using on-screen cameras and random culling to ensure requirements are met.
  • Maintain press cleanliness and general work area, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are met, being aware of moving press parts and taking necessary precautions.
  • Repeat production steps until each work order is complete, minimizing setup and waste.
  • Clean affected areas, including ink pan assemblies, printing plates, anilox rolls, and tooling.
  • Store clean printing plates and return unused materials to designated storage areas.
Requirements
  • Sense of urgency and bias towards action.
  • Safety-conscious attitude and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and keen eye for color.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability to manage work orders as if owning the process.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
General Information
  • This is a physically demanding position requiring lifting and movement of materials and tooling.
  • All Precision Label Inc. employees are cross-trained on all presses and finishing equipment, with assignments based on business needs.
