Position Overview
Our goal for this role is to ensure the safe production of top-quality products by efficiently implementing manufacturing systems that prioritize safety, quality, productivity, cost management, and ongoing enhancement.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain machinery in the Press department, including progressive and transfer presses, hand grinders, measuring instruments, fixtures, and material handling equipment.
- Visually inspect product quality and utilize measuring tools, gauges, and fixtures for accuracy.
- Interpret job instruction sheets and inspection documentation.
- Maintain records related to quality, productivity, and downtime.
- Complete daily log entries accurately.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles effectively.
This position does not have supervisory duties.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 1-3 months of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Capability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram formats.
No certifications required.
Additional Competencies
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a production environment.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands for handling or feeling, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently walks, climbs, balances, talks, or hears. Occasionally, the employee stands, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, frequently exposed to vibrations, and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
