Floral Designer

As a Floral Clerk at Brookshire Grocery Company, you will utilize your creativity and basic floral design knowledge to create stunning floral and plant arrangements that appeal to a variety of customers. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will ensure that our floral department maintains the highest quality standards.

• Create stylish floral and plant arrangements that meet customer expectations.
• Take customer orders in person, online, and over the phone, and schedule and participate in the delivery of floral arrangements.
• Prepare flowers for arrangement by clipping, hydrating, and feeding.
• Assist with building product displays for special events, holidays, and promotions to enhance customer appeal and drive sales.
• Order and receive product to maintain stock on shelving and display units, and verify invoices for accuracy.
• Rotate product to ensure quality and freshness.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and fulfilling customer requests.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.
• Clean the front sales area and back room preparation area, sanitize cut flower buckets, and spot clean spills and breakages.
• Promote product sales through the use of suggestive selling initiatives.

• Strong attention to detail and basic knowledge of flowers, handling, and design techniques.
• Unique design aesthetic and ability to use precision hand tools.
• Ability to safely work with sharp objects and effectively communicate in written and verbal form with customers and partners.
• Ability to occasionally travel to off-site locations to make floral deliveries and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Work is generally performed in a retail store environment.
• Occasional exposure to extreme cold conditions, wet, slippery, or damp conditions, outside temperatures and weather, and cleaning agents.
• Quiet to moderate noise level.
