Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at Marshall Health. As a key member of our dental care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and promoting oral health through preventive measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treatment Room Preparation: Ensure the treatment room is prepared according to procedures and protocols to provide a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Patient Screening and Preparation: Screen patients for relevant information and prepare them for oral examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Dental Instrument Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and sterilize dental instruments, trays, and other equipment to prevent cross-contamination and ensure optimal patient care.
  • Oral Examination and Treatment: Examine patients' teeth and gums, removing calculus and plaque, and applying preventive materials to promote oral health.
  • Charting and Diagnosis: Chart the condition of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by the dentist, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on effective oral hygiene strategies, including tooth brushing, flossing, and nutrition, to empower them to maintain optimal oral health.
  • Dental Radiographs and Impressions: Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) and make impressions of patients' teeth for study casts, as required.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, attractive work area and ensure clinical areas are stocked with necessary supplies to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from a school of dental hygiene.
  • Experience: Prior experience is preferred, but not required.
