About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified Correctional Nurse to provide healthcare services to inmates in a correctional facility. As a Correctional Nurse, you will be responsible for conducting health assessments, screenings, and medical evaluations, administering medications, treatments, and vaccinations, and maintaining accurate and comprehensive medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide healthcare services to inmates, including conducting health assessments, screenings, and medical evaluations.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care to stabilize patients in critical situations.
  • Educate inmates about health issues, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications to improve their overall well-being.
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention programs within the correctional facility.
  • Treat inmates for chronic health issues, trauma, infection, and substance abuse.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
  • Collaborate with correctional staff to address security concerns while delivering patient care.

Requirements:

  • CA RN license
  • BLS or CPR certification
  • Ability to clear a background check and drug screen
  • 2+ years of RN / Licensed Vocational Nurse experience
