Job Summary

This position provides evaluation and therapeutic management for patients with speech, language and/or cognitive disorders. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology and completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year. The Speech Therapist will work closely with the healthcare team to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for patients. The Speech Therapist will be responsible for evaluating patients' abilities and limitations, establishing treatment goals, and administering therapy according to the established plan. The Speech Therapist will also educate patients and caregivers about the goals of the program, methods of accomplishing goals, and injury prevention. Additionally, the Speech Therapist will recommend adaptive equipment, complete equipment justification forms, and arrange for the delivery of equipment. The Speech Therapist will re-evaluate patients, assess their progress, and make recommendations regarding discharge. The Speech Therapist will also perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology and completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year. The candidate will also need to have a current Oregon Speech Pathologist license and a current AHA BLS Level C certificate within one month of hire. The candidate will also need to have knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to assess patient needs and develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care. The candidate will also need to have demonstrated competency in applying the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in speech/language pathology to the patient population served in this facility.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of experience in speech/language pathology is preferred. The candidate will also need to have experience working in a healthcare setting and have knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
