Position Summary:

Job Title: Meat Clerk

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Meat Manager

The Meat Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory levels in the Meat Department and delivering outstanding service to guests both at the service counter and on the sales floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist customers in locating products on the sales floor.
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill special orders for guests.
  • Provide professional assistance via phone and in-person.
  • Support team members and contribute positively to the department's culture.
  • Address customer concerns effectively, utilizing the boomerang principle.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting and rotating meat products, maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Manage inventory levels for supplies within the Meat Department.
  • Maintain food safety logs and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Meet quality standards, ensuring product availability by designated times.
  • Exhibit regular attendance and notify management of any absences.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:

  • Ability to interact tactfully with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and company policies.
  • Capability to apply safety training to identify and respond to potential hazards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and kneel frequently.
  • Full range of motion in the upper body.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 80 pounds.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures in different areas of the store.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motions.
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position offers part-time or full-time hours, with shifts varying across weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
