- Policies and Procedures: Uphold all departmental policies at all entrance points of the facilities, ensuring a secure and safe environment for staff, clients, and the public.
- Screening and Searches: Conduct proper screening of all public, internal, and external personnel, and visitors, as well as searches of facilities and vehicles.
- Routine Patrols: Conduct routine patrols to ensure the safety and security of facilities and parameters, identifying and mitigating potential security risks.
- Support and Communication: Provide support to departmental staff within the facility, as needed, and communicate effectively with management, staff, clients, and the public.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed logs, reports, including incident reports, to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Scheduling and Coordination: May be responsible for creating work schedules for other safety and security specialists, including assessing staffing requirements, coordinating with team members, and ensuring adequate coverage for shifts.
- Additional Duties: Perform other safety and security-related duties as assigned by management.
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience: Three (3) years of prior peace officer experience from a Federal, state, county, or local law enforcement agency, or three (3) years of prior military experience with equivalent training.
- Certifications: Completion of a P.O.S.T. academy or completion of a Federal, state, county, or local law enforcement training academy with a verifiable certificate or transcript, a current, valid California Guard Card, and a current, valid California Exposed Firearm Permit.
- License: A valid California Class C Driver License is required.
- Physical Class: 4 Arduous, involving frequent heavy lifting over 25 pounds, often combined with bending, twisting, or working above ground on irregular surfaces.
- Age: Must be 21 years of age at time of filing.
