Job Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the operations of the aboveground storage tank and specialty vessel business lines at Matrix Service. This role requires a strong leader who can supervise craft employees, ensure compliance with safety policies, and maintain effective communication with various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise craft employees to ensure efficient and safe work practices.
- Coordinate work activities with different crafts, departments, and contractors to meet project schedules and requirements.
- Maintain liaison with safety, engineering, estimating, and planning departments to ensure compliance with safety policies, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Assist in resolving construction problems and safety issues, and conduct accident investigations as required.
- Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements and document corrective measures.
- Communicate with the HR Department to resolve issues related to requisitioning required manpower.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
- 6+ years' experience in similar facilities, including construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures; 1+ years' experience supervising craft employees.
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Experience working with aboveground storage tanks and specialty vessels is required.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
- Ability to supervise large groups and apply innovative management techniques to maximize performance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
