The Facilities Maintenance Attendant plays a vital role within the Dia Beacon Operations team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Facilities and, during weekends, the Senior Manager of Visitor Services. This is a part-time position requiring a commitment of 24 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours to cover shifts as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain cleanliness of building floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.

- Operate various cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers and vacuums.

- Ensure cleanliness in diverse areas such as carpets, walls, offices, kitchens, public spaces, and more.

- Provide support during special events and cover shifts for colleagues as needed.

- Service and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.

- Collect and properly dispose of waste and recyclables.

- Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including snow removal and lawn care.

- Use appropriate chemicals to manage pest control.

- Move heavy items and equipment safely.

- Change light fixtures as required.

- Receive and organize supplies in designated areas.

- Maintain and clean equipment post-use.

Additional Duties:

- Set up and dismantle furniture for events, including tables and chairs.

- Report supply needs, safety concerns, and maintenance issues to management.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to read labels and follow instructions for cleaning products and equipment.

- Awareness of safety and security issues in the workplace.

- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with team members.

- Professional demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors.

Working Conditions:

- This role requires continuous movement and physical activity, including lifting and using cleaning equipment.
