Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and document comprehensive patient histories and conduct physical assessments.
  • Interpret diagnostic results and formulate treatment plans for veterinary approval.
  • Execute approved treatment strategies while delegating tasks to team members as necessary.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all technical skills required for VTS certification.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and capability in advanced imaging techniques.
  • Conduct point-of-care diagnostics and ultrasounds, discussing findings with veterinarians.
  • Perform advanced technical procedures competently.
  • Maintain meticulous records of patient histories, conditions, treatments, and communications.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and referring veterinarians.
  • Ensure compliance with national, state, and local regulations regarding medication delivery.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the nursing team.
  • Collaborate with leadership on medical policy development and enforcement.
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts for daily operational challenges.
  • Build constructive relationships across the hospital.
  • Administer basic to advanced anesthesia.
  • Manage cardiopulmonary arrest situations in coordination with clinical staff.
  • Provide guidance on nursing care protocols, pharmacology, and restraint techniques.
  • Demonstrate advanced pharmacological knowledge, including medication protocols and safe handling practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology, veterinary nursing, or a related field.
  • Current certification as CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong analytical and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills and data entry.
  • Ability to think critically and perform well under pressure.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
