We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Driver - Logistics Specialist to join our team at Mendocino Forest Products Company. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Drive truck and trailer to deliver products to customer locations in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to all company, DOT, state, and federal transportation safety regulations.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing all duties.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance to ensure fluid levels and tire pressures are maintained.
- Submit a driver's daily vehicle inspection report on the condition at the beginning and end of each day.
- Report all accidents/incidents involving driver or company equipment immediately after incident occurs to the Supervisor.
- Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather, traffic conditions, or other emergencies.
- Completion of truck driving school with a minimum of one year of over the road experience; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires Class "A" Driver's License, current DOT physical examination card, and clean DMV record.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
The Truck Driver - Logistics Specialist will be required to spend at least 40% of the day standing and 20% of the day walking on surfaces such as concrete, wood, dirt and metal, and sometimes on slippery and wet surfaces.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The position requires wearing leather gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses and a hard hat.
