Job DescriptionAs a Meat Cutting Specialist at BJs Wholesale Club, you will be responsible for receiving, rotating, cutting, wrapping, and merchandising fresh and processed meats, including grinds. You will also assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre-packed deli items, as well as the rotisserie chicken area and full-service deli.
You will engage with members by making recommendations and answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood, and prepare special cuts of meat ordered by members.
You will ensure the meat case showcases all currently available products and maintain an appropriate level of inventory. You will also clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
- Previous meat cutting experience required.
- Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
This role requires frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises. You may need to lift objects up to 30 pounds and occasionally move heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
