Role Overview:
As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic at US Foods, Inc., you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing diesel equipment such as tractors and trailers, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Your expertise in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and documentation will be crucial in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.
2. Perform preventative maintenance within company standards to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
3. Document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability accurately and efficiently.
4. Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
5. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
6. Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.

Requirements:
1. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both is required.
2. Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs is essential.
3. Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals is necessary.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members are required.
