Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to support physicians in identifying medical and surgical issues, while documenting both normal and abnormal findings. Facilitates interviews and performs necessary research as required.
- Gathers patient histories, performs comprehensive physical assessments, and accurately records data in patient files; composes progress notes; prepares detailed patient evaluations and summaries highlighting significant findings; collects psychosocial histories pertinent to patient care, fostering therapeutic relationships with patients. Maintains relevant templates and documentation.
- Initiates and organizes laboratory tests and diagnostic evaluations; clarifies the necessity, preparation, nature, and expected outcomes of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to patients. Secures informed consent from patients and liaises with specialists and relevant parties.
- Executes therapeutic interventions such as applying and removing casts, suturing wounds, and changing dressings; monitors patient progress, communicates updates to the supervising physician, and keeps thorough records of each patient's progress, consulting with the supervising physician when patient outcomes deviate from expected criteria.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Must possess a valid Physician Assistant license in the State of Georgia or be licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP/FNP). Current NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
