We are looking for a talented Anti-Fraud Engineer to join our team at OpenAI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and experience in fraud or abuse analysis, investigation, and/or operations.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technology and collaborate with finance, security, product, research, and trust & safety operations teams to combat fraudulent and abusive actors on our system.

The Fraud Engineering team is responsible for identifying and responding to fraudsters on our platform, and we need an engineer who can design and build systems for fraud detection and remediation while balancing fraud loss, cost of implementation, and customer experience.

About the Role
  • Design and build systems for fraud detection and remediation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to combat fraud and abuse
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and tools to stay ahead of determined adversaries
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience in backend and data systems
  • At least 2 years of experience in fraud or abuse analysis, investigation, and/or operations
  • Strong technical skills and ability to quickly pick up new tools and frameworks

Our tech stack includes Terraform, Kubernetes, Azure, Python, Postgres, and Kafka. We value experience with these technologies but prioritize strong technical skills and a willingness to learn.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around $180,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This figure is based on industry standards and may vary depending on individual circumstances.
