Unit Overview
The 7 North West unit is a specialized 33-bed area focusing on bariatric, urological, and colorectal surgeries. We also provide care for patients recovering from reconstructive plastic surgery and various general surgical procedures. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care in a patient-centered environment, addressing the needs of medical patients, particularly those with digestive and abdominal conditions. Alongside our sister unit, we are recognized as the Bariatric units at our facility, holding accreditation from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).

Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care in accordance with established care plans, unit protocols, and hospital policies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Ensure safe transportation of patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, while maintaining accurate documentation of services provided.
- Act as an Observer for patients requiring constant monitoring, either in-person or through remote video systems, to enhance their safety.
- Perform general clerical and receptionist duties to support the efficient operation of the nursing unit.
- Accurately document care provided in the electronic medical record system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
Employment Details
- Employment Type: Part-time
- Shift: Night
- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 24
- Hours of Work: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Days Worked: Saturday to Sunday
- Weekend Frequency: Every third weekend
