Position Overview:
As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will engage in skilled and semi-skilled tasks across various trades, ensuring the upkeep and functionality of facilities and equipment.

Experience Requirements:
Applicants should possess a minimum of four (4) years of full-time experience in a specific trade under the guidance of a skilled journeyman, equivalent to the training received in an apprenticeship program. Alternatively, completion of technical courses or apprentice training in a trade may be considered on a year-for-year basis.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Perform journey-level work in one primary trade while also executing skilled and semi-skilled tasks in various other trades.
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, installation, and construction activities, potentially supervising other staff.

Essential Skills:
Candidates must demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment pertinent to the assigned trades.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including plumbing and electrical codes.
  • Familiarity with facility regulations governing the activities of state wards.
  • The ability to effectively utilize tools and equipment associated with the trades.
  • Capability to train and supervise others.
  • Skills in planning, diagnosing issues, and interpreting technical documents such as plans and blueprints.
  • Competence in following written and verbal instructions.
