Job Description:
Mental Health Support Specialist

At Psynergy Programs, we are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing individualized services and promoting self-determination and decision-making for our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monitoring activities and whereabouts of clients/residents to ensure their general health, safety, and well-being.
  • Encourage all clients to attend activities, groups, and scheduled appointments.
  • Offer counseling and support.
  • Provide transportation of clients in agency vehicles to clinical appointments and off-site outings.
  • Assist with transportation in agency vehicle, including but not limited to the transportation of clients and/or program supplies, on agency business.
  • Support Residential Caregivers in performing daily living activities, including feeding themselves, bathing, dressing, grooming, and leisure activities.
  • Monitor behavioral changes, documenting and reporting observations.
  • Participate in groups or recreational activities, such as shopping.
  • Support clients in all areas of daily living, rehabilitation, and treatment.
  • Monitor residents' behavioral changes, reinforces positive appropriate behavior, offers counseling and support to residents in need, monitors for signs and symptoms of mental illness.
  • Help patients and family through individual or group conferences to understand, accept, and follow medical recommendations.
  • Model Program Agreements with clients and other residential counselors and support training goals and needs of staff.
  • Utilize community resources to assist patients to resume life in the community or to learn to live within the limits of their disability.
  • Attend and participate in staff, program, agency, and community meetings and training as required.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:
A High School diploma or GED is required. Peer Support Specialist Certification is also necessary. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
The ability to engage and communicate effectively with others is essential. The ability to follow directions and work within a program structure is also required.
